Welcome to The Watercooler, issue 64.
LMTD has picked out some of the most interesting digital and social media stories making waves around the web this week, to keep you up-to-date with developments in the world’s most exciting and fastest-growing industry. Something else you’d like to see?
Let us know at email@example.com.
This week’s issue is a little different. We rarely toot our own horn, but we have much to be proud of and can’t help but share what we’ve been up to!
We do a lot of thinking at LMTD, and recently our favourite kind of thinking has been with Google. From the client that challenges us every day comes a portal that we couldn’t wait to bookmark: thinkwithgoogle.com/MENA. In working together, one of our favourite takeaways is the way we approach the “moments that matter“.
As highlighted through Google’s UAE-based research, the proliferation of mobile devices has made it easier to find, do, watch or buy what we want, when we want. And for marketers, there has never been a better opportunity to attain the holy grail of reaching the right person with the right message at the right time, every time.
We’re also quite partial to the stress balls we can’t help but grab every time we drop by the office (thanks guys!)
This month also saw us launch ADNOC Distribution on social media, one of the most exiting clients we get to work with out of our Abu Dhabi office. Now live on both Facebook and Twitter, ADNOC Distribution is leading the way on social with customer service in both English and Arabic (give them a tweet @ADNOCDist!), content to help you be the very best motorist you can be, and a great app that will ease your panic as you try to find the closest service station when your petrol tank is running very very very low (we won’t judge you).
We also had quite the treat last week when we met Peter Diamandis with du. What can we say? The man is a dreamer and a visionary. We walked away from the du CEO Forum feeling energised, inspired and ready to take our own moonshots! Do you follow du on Snapchat @dustories? You would have spotted us in the background during the event!
Finally, we can’t get enough of XDubai‘s XLine – our palms are sweaty as we queue up for our glides (we hope!)
The XLine was also one of the first opportunities we had to launch an Instagram campaign. Onwards and upwards… (Or in this case, downwards!)
